Proof that ANYBODY can bake homemade bread...or Super Easy Homemade Yeast Bread

Easy Yeast Bread Y'all, I don't know about you but I love the smell of fresh bread.  If it happens to be homemade bread...all the better.    I wish I knew where exactly this recipe came from but I don't...maybe it actually came from Pampered Chef?  I don't know.  I just know that I personally did NOT come up with it...although...that is my loaf in the picture.  I am certain you want the recipe?  Yes?   Here Goes... Easy Yeast Bread DO NOT PRE-HEAT YOUR OVEN.   Ingredients: 5-6 cups all purpose flour ( you can even use whole wheat in place of a cup or two) 2 Tbls dry yeast. ( Regular yeast.  NOT rapid rise or any variation of Rapid!) 2 Tbls sugar (I have only used white sugar) 1 Tbls salt 2 cups HOT Water  (120-130 degrees)  CRITICAL or the yeast won't behave 1 Deep Covered Baker or Dutch Oven Rockcrok ( I prefer the DCB myself)  2 Large Mixing Bowls and a cloth to lay over the top Directions: 1.  Grease

Kids in the Kitchen

Do you let your kids cook?  I am learning that teaching your kids to cook is apparently a dying art.  Huh???  How on earth can that be a thing?  How are they supposed to...you know...take care of themselves?  I find it mind boggling.  I don't always let mine take over in the kitchen but I definitely work with them!  Yes, sometimes the food is less than wonderful...but guess what...they are learning a skill.  A skill that we all need in life.  Don't we?   I suppose this is why there is a fast food joint on every corner?  Well, my girls love to cook.  They really like finding Pinterest recipes and following the directions exactly...to see how it turns out.  This picture is a salad they made not long ago.  It was freaking delicious!   We found this Chicken Avocado Caprese Salad that someone pinned from  Cafe Delights  and it is absolutely worth the try!  Of course, we used some of my favorite Pampered Chef tools to make it a bit easier to prepare... double burner grill pan, close
Getting to know you better... Do you have a favorite meal?  A "go to" comfort food that immediately puts you in your Grandma's kitchen?  I have two.  Yes, two.  It's OK to have two.  One my MaMaw made me and the other my Papaw made for me.  Today I am going to tell you about Fried Toast. My grandparents lived all the way at the end of Broadwell Road near Rodessa, Louisiana.   When I say at the end of it...I mean it.  The road ended and you drove through a pasture to get to their house.  It had a big metal gate.  I can't tell you how many times that I got in trouble for swinging on that gate.  I just couldn't resist the temptation.  I can remember MaMaw telling me that I couldn't go past the barbwire fence in the very back of the pasture...what I didn't realize at the time was that she lived just about on the State line.  I'm fairly certain that I might have crossed over that fence a time or town with my friends.   A bunch of people lived out on
